It is beautiful running alongside my brothers and sisters to Christ, trying to become the saints we are all created to be. |
I grew up cradle Catholic so coming to GCU I knew I needed to come to the Newman Center. Before coming I felt so far gone in the world grasping for money, success, and doing life all on my own. That was the problem. I couldn’t do it on my own…I NEEDED the Lord. It wasn’t until coming to Newman that I discovered that the Lord truly has a plan for my life. After my first retreat, I surrendered my will to His and my whole life from there changed. Through the Newman Center, I was taught that “man cannot fully find himself except through a sincere gift of himself". I started giving myself away through hospitality and helping cook for Newman nights. The Lord revealed my gifts more and more when I started allowing him to finally work. The joy that the Lord has given me is something I pray everyone receives. Through the Newman Center offering the opportunities for daily Mass, adoration, confession, discipleship, and fellowship, I have been able to grow spiritually. College is a crazy time and praise God I have a home to go to. It is beautiful running alongside my brothers and sisters to Christ, trying to become the saints we are all created to be.
